On May 26, Kapuso actress Beauty Gonzalez admitted feeling flattered when Lani Mercado recommended her for the role of Gloria in ‘Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis.’
At the media conference for ‘Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis,’ which LionhearTV covered, Gonzalez stated that she’s one of the biggest fans of the former actress. Gonzalez played Gloria in the film version of the Kapuso series.
The actress revealed, “Actually, I’m very flattered for Congressman Lani. I’m so flattered–lahat ng kind words na sinabi sa kaniya. And I’m a big admirer of Miss Lani–through her life decisions, her career, and now she’s serving the people of the Philippines, which is such an honor.”
She continued, “And someday, maybe I could be like her, and I’m very thankful. Miss Lani, I’m your biggest fan. I hope I can portray Gloria as better as her, also ayaw ko naman na mapahiya siya. I’m also very excited kasi ibang Gloria ito, Bisaya na Gloria. So ibang timpla naman, but yes, I’m very thankful for the kind words.”
Actor-senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. narrated how his wife recommended Gonzalez during the casting process of the series.
Revilla shared, “Well, napakagaling na artista, in fact even ‘yung image niya ay hindi nalalayo sa aking may bahay na si Lani. Even ‘yung height niya, ‘yung talino niya, ‘yung galing niya. In fact si Lani pa nga pumili sa kaniya. Yeah so, malamang magaling ‘to and nakita ko talaga ‘yung galing niya.”
As for Gonzalez, she expressed excitement at the possibility of Mercado guesting in their comedy series. She quipped, “Yes, ready! I’m so excited. That would be so interesting to see. Good luck sa’yo Sen.”
