On June 10, Kapuso star Vin Abrenica addressed possibility of doing frontal nudity in future projects.
At the media conference for ‘The Revelation,’ Vin Abrenica first acknowledged an actor’s job of taking on challenging scenes as essential to the story.
“Una as actors, depende pa rin naman kung anong depth ng–may reason kung bakit gagawin ‘yun. If it’s worth for the story, if it’s worth for our craft, pag ako mag-fro-frontal.”
He then backpedaled, highlighting the implications of him doing a frontal nude scene, especially considering that he has a daughter.
“Alam mo kasi especially now, dati kasi pwede ‘yung mga tapes, ngayon kasi parang digital na pwede siyang ma-record and play and it’s going to be there for a lifetime, I can’t imagine my daughter watching me, seeing my frontal.Â
“So parang ‘yun ang iniisip ko na. Well, I can give her a heads up na, ‘Anak, plaster ‘yan.’ Pero as of now, it’s something to be–kailangan talagang pag-isipan, if ever, depende, basta hindi.”
Earlier, Abrenica cited how he wanted to take on projects that would help him set an example for people and his daughter.
“And mahalaga siya sa akin in a way na every project that I take now, I take into consideration na what it can do to our society, hindi lang ako basta-basta tumatanggap na, ‘Let’s do this kasi you’re paid.’Â
“Para sa akin, I think of it as on a long term, dapat mag-set siya ng magandang example, especially on the creative side, on social media, I don’t just accept things in payment na gagawin ‘yung trabaho. I have to believe na it’s really well, na dapat mag-set ako ng example especially–I have to do this kasi I’m a father. I have to be an example to my daughter.”
As for his upcoming film, Abrenica stars in the co-production of House of Prime Films and Hand Held Entertainment Production, ‘The Revelation,’ with Jelai Andres, Ana Jalandoni, and Aljur Abrenica.
‘The Revelation,’ a story created by Joyzell Dulay and produced by Kate Javier, follows the story of Vincent, head of the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation), as he goes after a serial killer on the loose.
Under the direction of Ray An Dulay, ‘The Revelation’ opens in cinemas this June 21.
