Renowned Filipino host and comedian, Vice Gan has set tongues wagging with her recent remark that became the talk of the town.
During the June 8 episode of ‘Rampanalo,’ a segment on ‘It’s Showtime,’ a contestant defied the crowd’s choice, prompting Vice Ganda to assert, “Pinapuputok mo ang panubigan ko, nanggigigil ako sa ‘yo.”
“Sige, matigas ang ulo mo… buksan mo ‘yan…” She added.
The contestant persisted in their chosen path despite the audience and Vice Ganda repeatedly exclaiming “Rampalit” (to change it). As a consequence, the contestant’s prize money dropped from PHP 48,000.00 to PHP 28,000.00 when their selected box revealed a deduction of PHP 20,000.00.
With only two boxes remaining, Vhong Navarro sought Vice Ganda’s advice. In a meaningful response, Vice Ganda said, “Hayaan mo, matigas ang ulo, eh. Hayaan mong mapahamak. Binigyan ng idea, hindi pa nakinig. Panindigan mo ‘yan. Sa panahon na ‘to, ang daming taong may maling desisyon”.
The contestant, despite the crowd’s preference for “Rampalit,” once again chose “rampa” (stay with their original box). Vice Ganda exclaimed, “Sige, sige huwag kayong makinig sa madlang pipol. Ayaw ninyong makinig sa madlang pipol, ha! Panindigan mo!”.
As the box was opened, the prize amount decreased even further due to the division by 10. Eventually, the contestant opted for “Rampalit.” Amy Perez asked Vice Ganda if the contestant made the right decision.
Vice Ganda responded, “At least, habang hindi pa huli ang lahat, nakinig ka sa madlang pipol. Kultura natin sa Showtime ‘yan eh. We always listen to the madlang pipol, ‘di ba? If you listen to the madlang pipol, you will never go wrong. Because the madlang pipol is the heart, the heart that will lead you to the right path.”

The comedian’s remark has stirred speculation among netizens, particularly in light of the ongoing timeslot conflict between TVJ’s ‘Eat Bulaga’ and TAPE Inc. on TV5. With rumors circulating that ‘Eat Bulaga’ might replace ‘It’s Showtime’ in its timeslot, some netizens speculate that Vice Ganda’s comment may be a subtle reference, suggesting that networks should pay closer attention to viewers’ feedback.
Others also ponder if the remark is directed at TAPE Inc., the production company behind ‘Eat Bulaga.’
Despite the challenges faced by ‘It’s Showtime,’ the show remains resilient, with a loyal viewer base that continues to tune in. Airing from Mondays to Saturdays at noontime on A2Z channel, Kapamilya YouTube channel, and TV5.
