THE Unkabogable Phenomenal Box-office Superstar Vice Ganda showed a softer side during her recent sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum. Over 16,000 screaming fans filled the Big Dome for Your Memejesty, Queen VG – a sight that visibly moved Vice as she thanked them during her opening spiel.
“Naiiyak ako kasi tenth concert ko na ito dito sa Araneta na punong-puno. I’m so blessed. Hindi lahat nakakapag-sampung concerts dito, hindi ba? Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat. My heart is full of joy. I’m overwhelmed tonight,” Vice shares with her audience.
Vice joked that her concert would not be like those of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
“Ang show ko po ngayong gabi ay rated SSSSSSPG – Super, Super, Super, Sobra, Sobrang Strict na Parental Guidance. Sa mga hindi handa, sa mga conservative, sa mga very sensitive, sa mga politically correct, sa mga balat-sibuyas, binibigyan ko kayo ng sampung segundo para tumayo at mag-refund,” Vice playfully warns her fans.
Queen VG was true to her word. When MC, Lassy, and Petite joined her onstage, they cracked many jokes that were not for the faint of heart, to say the least. But perhaps the naughtiest part of the evening came when singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre took the stage to sing with Vice.
Netizens had a good laugh when Vice Ganda sang an SPG version of Moira’s hit song “Paubaya.” This version, which the two hitmakers perfromed as a duet during the concert, has since earned millions of views across different social media platforms. While they were singing together, the It’s Showtime host began to change the song’s lyrics, to Moira’s surprise. The crowd roared with laughter as Vice sang one explicit line after another.
The rest of the show was just as enjoyable. Aside from Vice’s enthusiastic performances, her many costume changes were also a highlight of Your Memejesty, Queen VG. For the opening number, Vice donned an elaborate gold outfit, complete with elbow-length gloves and an eye-catching headdress. That fabulous, flamboyant costume set the tone for the evening. For her duet with Moira, Vice put on a bright blue-and-beige costume that made her look like a flower in full bloom – a perfect outfit for someone who has maintained the peak of her career as a live performer.
Vice’s interactions with other Kapamilya stars, particularly her fellow It’s Showtime hosts (some of whom gamely joked around with the “horse of the hour” even though they didn’t plan on being part of the show), made the evening more fun for everyone present. Notable guests like Awra, Darren Espanto, Jackie Gonzaga and Zeus Collins also made their mark with brilliant performances of their own, adding to the already exciting atmosphere.
The concert, which lasted almost four hours, was a showcase of Vice Ganda’s enduring star power. Despite it being her 10th solo concert, the madlang pipol’s excitement for her remained as strong as ever, with tickets selling out three days ahead of the show. Her gratitude for the support, including the presence of ABS-CBN’s top brass, was evident and made the concert even more special.
As the curtain fell on Your Memejesty, Queen VG, it became clear that it wasn’t just an evening of entertainment; it was also a testament to the power of happiness and laughter coupled with the unbreakable bond Vice has with her loyal fans. With a fabulous, seamless blend of comedy, music, and poignant moments, Vice solidified her status as the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box-office Superstar and once again, leaving her Little Ponies eagerly awaiting her next big concert.
