On June 20, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon shared possible titles for their new noontime show.
At the media event for the TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads, reporters inquired about the title of their upcoming TV5 noontime show.
Vic stressed that he would still want it to be ‘Eat Bulaga!’
“Di mo alam? Eat Bulaga! Basta ako Eat Bulaga ako.
“Kanya-kanyang title basta ako Eat Bulaga.”
Joey quipped they plan to reveal different titles every day starting July 1.
“‘Yun nga ang masaya dito eh, first time ‘to na show na maraming title, bahala kayo.”
Tito discussed the legalities of their claim for ‘Eat Bulaga!’ citing that Joey De Leon owns the copyright of the noontime program title.
“We are working on the legal side na Eat Bulaga, si Joey ang nag-imbento nun eh. History and the Law back us up. Ganon ka-simple ang usapan doon. So, therefore, it might take some time, but we would definitely be able to use Eat Bulaga–I’m sure of that.”
When asked what would happen on July 1, Sotto responded that they plan to surprise the Filipino audience.
“Ngayon paano sa July 1? Ang usapan namin kanina nila Jane and Jerry su-surprise namin kayo sa July 1.”
Vic also pointed out how much of their lives they have dedicated for the show.
“Eh just imagine after 44 years, minahal mo, ako more than half of my life sa Eat Bulaga, pagka-absent ako sa Eat Bulaga, parang may kulang sa buhay ko, tapos kukunin lang ng kung sino-sino. Hindi papayag si MVP.”
De Leon then added some of the titles he has in mind for the new TV5 show, in case they will not be able to use ‘Eat Bulaga.’
“Ngayon, tinatanong ninyo ‘yung title, pwede ring ano eh, ibalik doon sa original, ‘yung IT, IT Bulaga. Sabi ng misis ko, ‘Eh, anong meaning noon, eh maganda na nga ‘yung Eto Ang Totoo, tulad ng sabi ni Vic, gusto mo It-It pa eh. Ang meaning ng It-It, ‘Isang Thousand, Isang Tuwa’ Nahirapan lang ako sa Libo kaya thousand na lang. Patawa lang ‘yun. patawa”
TheTVJ trio returns to TV with a new noontime show under TV5 starting July 1.
Joining them are Legit Dabarkads Allan K, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillio, and Ryza Mae Dizon.
