TV5 has achieved a milestone by becoming the second most-watched TV network in the country.
According to the latest NUTAM People survey, TV5 surpassed GTV and claimed the number 2 spot for the month of May 2023.
During this period, TV5 recorded an average total day audience share of 10.4 percent, 1.9 percent higher than the now third placer GTV which had an average of 8.5 percent.
However, GMA Network continued to dominate the ratings game, maintaining the top position with an average audience share of 44.0 percent.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s block time partner A2Z remained on the fourth position with a 6.8-percent audience share. GMA’s digital channel i-Heart Movies secured the fifth spot with 3.4 percent.
TV5’s success can be attributed to its primetime programming, particularly the ABS-CBN primetime bida lineup featuring popular shows like ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ ‘The Iron Heart,’ and ‘Dirty Linen.’
In terms of TV programs, ’24 Oras’ retained its position as the overall number one show for May 2023, receiving a rating of 16.1 percent. ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho’ followed closely behind with a rating of 15.5 percent.
The live-action adaptation of Kapuso’s ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ claimed the third spot with a rating of 12.8 percent, while its competitor ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ secured the fourth spot with 11.8 percent.
‘The Clash 2023,’ meanwhile, took the fifth position with 11.7 percent, followed by ‘Pepito Manaloto’ on the sixth spot with a rating of 11.3 percent, and ‘Magpakailanman’ on the seventh after obtaining 11.0 percent.
Tied on the eighth-ninth spots were ‘Abot Kamay Na Pangarap’ and ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ which both achieved a rating of 10.6 percent.
Rounding off the top 10 was Amazing Earth, which posted a rating of 9.9 percent.
