On June 20, Senator Tito Sotto clarified Tony Tuviera’s role with the new TVJ show on TV5.
At the media event for the TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads, Sotto explained that Tuviera is not involved with TVJ Productions since he owns 25 percent of TAPE Inc.
“Sa ngayon wala.
“Tony is still a 25-percent owner of TAPE Inc, eh. Eh, we have disengaged with TAPE, so that’s the correct answer.”
Joey de Leon then quipped that they will always be live because they do not want to air taped episodes.
“Pero nakakasiguro kami, lagi kaming live, ayaw namin ng TAPE.”
Sotto further compared their partnership with TV5 and Mediaquest and their previous arrangement with TAPE Inc.
“Yes, it’s a very different feeling. Mas–mas magiging engaged kami sa ika nga eh di lang sa production, kundi sa pamamahala mismo, because we have always relied on a friend, Tony.
“We never talked to the people on TAPE eh, si Tony lang naman ang kausap namin eh. So we left it at that on that time. Ganon ‘yung usapan namin eh, kami basta sa production side kami. But at this time, with Mediaquest, and Jane, and company, especially the group of MVP, we will be more hands on ika nga pagdating doon sa part na ‘yun.”
TVJ trio returns to TV with a new noontime show under TV5 starting July 1.
Joining them are Legit Dabarkads Allan K, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillio, and Ryza Mae Dizon.
TVJ and the Dabarkads parted ways with TAPE Inc. on May 31 after an internal issue between the noontime show and the company.
