TAPE Inc., the production company of Eat Bulaga! recently released a statement on June 1 following the farewell statement of TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon) on May 31. The remaining hosts and crew of the show also followed.
TVJ is the prominent host of the noontime show for years, rendered their departure a shock for the show’s loyal viewers. The hosts left due to internal strife between the new management of TAPE Inc.
TVJ’s official statement said they were not permitted to air live explaining the replay episode of Eat Bulaga! broadcasted on May 31.
Netizens speculated if this was the end of their favorite noontime show. De Leon, one of the hosts of the noontime show, shuts down rumors after posting that they were only taking a “day off”.
These hints prompted the public to believe that TVJ will possibly transfer to another network and continue Eat Bulaga!
However, in the official statement of TAPE Inc., they said that Eat Bulaga! will continue airing on GMA Network still under TAPE Inc.
They wrote: “The success of Eat Bulaga is not dependent only on three (3) people but on the collaborative efforts of its talents, crew, and loyal viewers.”
The production company further remarked that TVJ’s departure should not be the cause of the show’s closure. They intend to accept the changes as they continue their service to the country as the leading noontime show.
In the official statement, they asked the public to expect Eat Bulaga! to be back with a more entertaining show.
TAPE Inc. wrote: “Aasahan ninyo ang mas masaya, mas nakakaaliw at HIGIT PA SA ISANG LIBO’T ISANG TUWA NA Eat Bulaga.”
The production company’s official statement could mean that there will be new hosts and crew for Eat Bulaga!‘s comeback episode.
Will this ‘new’ Eat Bulaga! live up to the expectations of its loyal viewers? And with TVJ’s hints of continuing Eat Bulaga! in another network, will there actually be dual broadcasting of the noontime show?
