Pinoys are known for their positivity, perseverance, and penchant for laughter. In a country where calamities are as abundant as alcoholic beverages during its numerous festive occasions, Filipinos can weather any storm because they employ humor and optimism to cope with difficult situations, enabling them to continue moving forward. Similar to this, is the message of the new song from prolific composer and singer Denin Sy titled, “Susuka Pero Di Susuko” in dealing with a challenge that many Filipinos are familiar with – failure.
Asked about his latest composition “Susuka Pero Di Susuko”, Denin shared, “I composed the song for those who are dealing with failure for whatever reason; it could be a failed endeavor or a failed relationship. I was inspired to write a lighthearted song that would somehow tell them that it’s okay to drown their sadness, brought about by failure, through a drinking binge and then later throw up, but what’s important is that they don’t throw in the towel; to not give up and soldier on no matter what challenges they might encounter.”
Denin has a propensity for crafting songs containing witty lyrics and captivating melodies such as “Magbabalik Sa Iyo”, “Sabi Mo Usap Lang”, and his recent release, the heartwarming acoustic pop ballad, “Minsan Kape, Minsan Ikaw”. His song “Pasensya Ka Na God Bless” entered the charts of various radio stations and received massive radio airplay. Denin hopes that his latest single “Susuka Pero Di Susuko” will be appreciated by listeners. Based on the song’s positive message and catchy tune, those who listen to it will indeed be inspired.
Denin is also known among netizens as the “Parody King” because of his song parodies, with his parody of the “Bioman” theme song amassing over a million views on Facebook. An architect by profession, Denin says that writing original songs, which he gets inspiration from everyday matters, and singing them will always be part of his passions along with writing film scripts which he hopes to produce into movies in the near future.
