On June 12, a fan directly asked former ‘It’s Showtime’ dancer Sanrio the reason for her departure from the show through a comment.
In response to the comment, the former entertainer of the noontime show took to TikTok and addressed the issue behind her departure through a video.
Sanrio clarified that she did not actually leave the ‘It’s Showtime’ family. She explained that the primary reason for her departure was due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Ganito kase ‘yan, nagstart kase ‘yan noong pandemic. Sanrio said.
Amidst the pandemic, the month of January 2021 witnessed a staggering number of over 25,000 workers losing their jobs, with many others enduring pay cuts. Additionally, ABS-CBN had to take the difficult step of laying off over 11,000 employees after being denied a franchise in 2020.
Sanrio went on to explain that her contract with ‘It’s Showtime’ was originally set to expire in March 2022 and was not renewed.
Sanrio also revealed that she patiently waited for three years, hoping that ‘It’s Showtime’ would reach out to her for a potential return. Unfortunately, despite her anticipation, she did not receive any requests from the show, which led her to explore other job opportunities.
Naghintay ako ng three years.”
The dancer also expressed her deep affection for the show and conveyed her immense gratitude towards ‘It’s Showtime’ and Vice Ganda for their invaluable support in her career.

Sanrio emphasized that despite her love for the show, she had no choice but to seek other job opportunities since she was not contacted again by ‘It’s Showtime.’
In conclusion, she sincerely expressed, “Sana po wag sumama loob n’yo o wag kayo malungkot kase nangangailangan din po ako.”
