On May 24, Viva artist Rose Van Ginkel admitted that she almost gave up on her showbiz career.
At the media conference for ‘Star Dancer,’ which LionhearTV covered, Van Ginkel recalled she had almost let go of her dream of breaking into showbiz. This was because of a lack of opportunities.
The Viva artist shared, “Actually ever since, nag-start po ako sa industry noong 12 years old ako. So after kong mag-graduate, actually, ito ‘yung muntik ko ng dream na muntik ko ng i-let go–itong acting, itong industry na ‘to. Kasi nga, nawalan na ako ng hope before, na feeling ko talaga hindi siya meant for me. So ito ‘yung dream na muntik ko ng bitawan kasi nawalan na ako ng pag-asa.”
Thankfully, she successfully took on projects that boosted her career during the pandemic.
“Pero, ayun nabigyan naman ako ng chance ulit. Noong pandemic, for Vivamax, ayun nakabalik naman and successful naman ‘yung pagbalik ko kaya very happy.”
Van Ginkel was part of the Viva Girl Group Pop Girls from 2009 to 2017. She then gained popularity through her Viva movies ‘Paglaki ko Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar’, ‘ReVirginized’, and ‘Kitty K7’.
As for her role in ‘Star Dancer’, Van Ginkel said she did not mind landing an antagonist character in the film. She said she loved working with film director Pam Miras.
As for support roles, she valued her performance more than a leading role.
The Viva artist said, “And triny ko naman na ibigay ‘yung best ko every scenes kasi parang feeling ko ‘yun ‘yung dapat–kahit maliit lang ‘yung role mo, dapat mapansin ka and matandaan ka ng tao. Parang it means na magaling ka na or something. Ganon po.”
Van Ginkel stars in the upcoming Vivamax film ‘Star Dancer,’ with Denise Esteban and Arron Villaflor.
The cast features young Viva stars Erika Balagtas, Arah Alonzo, Karl Aquino, and Billy Villeta.
In June, Vivamax will begin streaming ‘Star Dancer’ directed by Pam Miras.
