On Kapuso Star Rita Daniela’s interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda aired on June 14, she confirmed her breakup with her non-showbiz partner.
The star was asked to confirm the speculations of netizens on social media that she was no longer together with her son, Uno’s father.
Daniela confirmed, “Yes, Tito Boy…umm…Naghiwalay na po kame…nu’ng tatay ni Uno.”
“We really tried, you know, our best…just like everybody else, but it didn’t work out,” the actress added.
She explained that she is on good terms with her ex-partner and is doing well in co-parenting their son.
“Pero ang maganda d’yan Tito Boy kase we’re good friends, eh. Very very good, and we’re doing our very best to co-parent Uno,” Daniela said in the interview.
The actress added that she is proud of her and her ex-partner for fixing their relationship to give their son a better family.
She said, “And I’m actually proud of ourselves, kaming dalawa, kase hangga’t maaga inaayos na namin siya para hangga’t pag lumaki na si Uno, alam mo po ‘yun, peaceful po kame, and we can still be a family na wala na pong mga issue issue sa both sides.”
Abunda, the host, thanked the actress for coming clean with her experiences and trusting the show to end speculations.
He further added, “Isang araw, when Rita falls in love again, diba?”, which the Kapuso star agreed with.
Daniella was asked if she still sees herself falling in love again and ready to enter into a relationship. She answered, “Definitely yes. Of course, it’s still one of my dreams to be you know, maglakad na may wedding gown…but now, not yet, because right now, my focus is to be a better person and be the best mom to Uno.”
The Kapuso star also revealed that she first told her sister about her breakup before telling anyone else. She further admits that her separation from her ex-partner was a painful time in her life.
In the interview, she was also asked about her relationship with her love team partner Ken Chan.
The star admits that her relationship with the actor was an almost-love story.
“Yung nangyari sa amin ni Ken, it’s an almost love story. Kasi ‘yung almost ‘yun ‘yung masakit ‘di ba? It’s like so close yet so far,” Daniella said.
She admitted that she fell for Chan during their on-screen partnership, even if she previously did not believe in love teams.
“Ako rin po actually, hindi rin ako naniniwala nung ‘yung mga love team, “Hindi totoo ‘yan kasi work lang ‘yan eh.” Sobrang nagulat ako doon sa konsepto na, “Ay kasi magkasama kayo araw-araw”, nade-develop pala talaga,” the star added.
However, the two stopped communicating after their separation.
The actress said, “Actually we stopped talking for a long time. I had to give time for myself because ‘yung nangyari sa amin ni Ken, I just didn’t lose a friend, I lost a best friend and a family in one. That was very painful for me.”
Daniella assures that they now have a stable relationship as friends and even reveals that the actor visited her and her son.
