The host of the rebranded Kapuso noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga!’ shared their reactions to the partnership between Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ and GMA Network’s sister channel GTV.
Starting July 1, ‘It’s Showtime’ will also be seen on GTV, in addition to its present home on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live. This comes after TV5 decided to give its noontime slot to the new show of Tito, Vic, and Joey following their departure from TAPE Inc., the production company behind ‘Eat Bulaga!’
During their Kapuso Showbiz News interview, published on Monday, June 26, the hosts of the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga!’ gamely shared their thoughts on the partnership of GTV and ‘It’s Showtime.’
Kapuso actor-comedian Paolo Contis expressed excitement about the news and emphasized that the viewers are the ones who will benefit from this situation. He mentioned that this latest collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA is another significant move since it involves a noontime show, which will open up numerous opportunities for many people in the industry.
“Exciting yun…kasi ang ano dyan yung mga ano eh, yung mga viewers diba?… It is a competition, pero it will be a very healthy competition because basically we’re under one roof.”
For Buboy Villar, he sees no problem with it, adding that he was even happy with the partnership because it will help many people, especially those working behind the scenes, continue to have job security.
“Okay rin, walang problema sa akin. Ako po yung taong walang pakialam no, basta masaya kayo, masaya na rin ako. May mga trabaho sila, lalo yung mga nasa likod ng camera, yun po yung pinakaimportante saken.”
The Legaspi twins also shared enthusiasm about the partnership.
For the part of Cassy, she expressed delight and ‘kilig,’ saying she would now be able to see someone from ‘It’s Showtime’ more often. While she did not mention a name, Legaspi is being linked to ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ hurado Darren Espanto.
Mavy, on the other hand, shared happiness about the partnership because of his close bond with Vice Ganda, whom he affectionately refers to as ‘Meme.’ He also recalled accompanying his mom, Carmina Villarroel, when she was a guest host on Showtime, which allowed him to establish connections with people from the Kapamilya show.
Betong Sumaya also warmly welcomed the Kapamilya noontime show to the Kapuso station, expressing great happiness and stating that the collaboration is a powerful union.
“Ang ‘It’s Showtime’ ay nasa GTV na, oh my goodness, welcome, welcome po sa Kapuso station. And sobrang happy kasi isipin nyo nagsanib pwersa na kumbaga eh no. At ang magbebenefit talaga eh mga viewers natin.”
