In a CinemaNews’ Interview with Ogie Diaz last June 19, Bianca Gonzalez greeted the ‘Showbiz Update’ host with ‘Happy Father’s Day!’
On the topic of fatherhood, Gonzalez asked about the host-comedian’s five daughters.
“How old are your kids now?” Gonzales asked, to which Diaz replied, “I have five girls. 21, 19, 15, 14, tsaka 6 years old.”
The two moved on with the interview talking about Diaz as a father. The ‘Showbiz Update’ host said that as a parent, what he always tells himself is that he would not have the right to handle other children if he could not give his daughters good upbringing.
Diaz said in the interview.
Before his current hosting stints and YouTube fame, he used to be a talent manager acting as a father figure to different artists.
One of the many talents that Diaz handled was well-known actress Liza Soberano.
In his interview, Diaz was asked, “How you handle itong ongoing issue with Liza, a.k.a Hope, and kung ito ba ‘yong, I guess, ito ba ‘yong isa sa mga issue na pinaka-nahirapan kang i-handle o harapin?”
So long as you know the truth and you’re telling only the truth. Diaz answered.
He also remarked that he wants to understand where the actress and former talent is coming from.
Diaz also mentions that he is still thankful for the actress’ help in his life, especially to his miracle baby.
“At the end of the day, I still owe her big time. If not for Liza, siguro marami din akong hindi na-achieve.
Diaz then commented that he does not care about the bashing that he receives from some of Soberano’s fans. He also said that he is okay as long as both of them know the truth.
So for as long as I know the truth and we both know the truth, okay ako dun,” Diaz said.
In the interview, he also said the he already moved on from the issue and assured that the actress has also moved on from it.
“Life has to go on and naka-move on naman ako. I am sure na pati sya nakamove on na rin. Okay lang,” Diaz added.
Soberano’s former talent manager also added that if they would meet again, he would definitely greet the actress if the actress greeted him first.
Kung lalapit, thank you,” Diaz said.
He also remarked that he no longer wants any more hurt after they parted ways.
Diaz also followed up his answer with, “Ganun lang.
He further clarified that he has no ill intentions toward the actress and he sincerely wishes her well.
Saka wala akong sama ng loob kay Liza after all of this.
In February this year, Soberano expressed her struggles and difficulties in the Showbiz industry. The actress further said in her vlog that she sacrificed herself, her freedom, and her happiness to become the actress that the public knows.
Soberano took the first step in her rebranding and bared her soul as Hope Soberano.
Some netizens did not see this in a positive light as they called the actress ungrateful to her manager, ABS-CBN, and other main forces that helped her rise to fame. However, Soberano’s fans took her side and began defending her from bashers.
