On June 8, Kapuso star Mavy Legaspi highlighted how Kyline Alcantara’s “tough love” helped him with their new series.
At the media conference for ‘LUV IS: Love at First Read’, which LionhearTV covered, Legaspi said he feels blessed to have Alcantara’s “tough love” helping him learn with their latest project.
Legaspi shared, “Kyline has been in this industry for a long time, compared to me. So just learning about her work ethics. Siyempre may mga reminders ‘yun and napaka-blessed ako to receive her love and at the same time her tough love dahil ‘yung sinasabi ko nga, ‘yung transparency, napaka-importante sa akin ‘yun because I’d rather have it than you say it nicely. You know, para matuto agad ako. I’m always willing to learn like ‘yung sinabi ni Kyline.”
He then recounted how Alcantara’s support while shooting their series got him through the challenges of their roles.
The young actor revealed how thankful he is for Kyline’s support. He expressed, “Through the tough times on set, nabubulol ako or hindi ko makuha ‘yung emotion na gusto ko, she’s always there to support me kahit pagod na siya, kahit 2 AM, 3 AM, she’s always there. It’s her support na doon ako nagulat and I’m very thankful for that kasi malaking bagay ‘yun. Malaking tulong sa akin ‘yun for this whole duration of the show.”
Alcantara then complimented Legaspi’s professionalism and passion with their latest Kapuso project.
“Iba ‘yung passion niya pagdating sa trabaho and dahil nakikita ko ‘yun lagi sa kaniya, na-motivate po ako na maging mas passionate pa, na mas pag-igihan ‘yung craft ko.”

The Kapuso version of Chixnita’s Wattpad novel, directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz, broadcasts on GMA Network on June 12.
