Lakam, Kim Chiu’s older sister, recently made headlines due to her health struggles and recent hospital confinement.
During the launch of Kim Chiu as the newest brand endorser of ‘Sisters Napkins and Pantyliners’ last May 31, she mentioned her sister’s condition and how it strengthened her devotion to Padre Pio.
Lakam was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City on Kim’s 33rd birthday, April 19, 2023. Lakam shared on her Instagram on Friday, May 12, 2023, that she was in a ‘very critical stage’ during the first five days of her hospitalization. However, she did not disclose her illness.
“Speaking of sister, totoo talaga Padre Pio isa talaga siyang miracle. Hindi ko talaga alam gagawin ko akala ko wala na, natakot talaga ako,” shared Kim. According to the actress, she has been a long-time devotee of Padre Pio.
When asked how she was doing during her sister’s struggle, Kim answered, “Blangko, nagkasakit pa ko, lahat na nangyari, ang baba na ng energy ko, hindi ko na alam saan kukuha ng lakas.”
“Sobrang okay parang nothing happened, God is really good sa lahat,” added Kim.
For Kim, her sister Lakam was her source of strength and that was the same when Lakam was struggling. Kim said, “Siguro in a way, we’ve been beside each other, siya nga nasa harapan ko, siya ang lakas ko.”
When asked how Xian, her long-time boyfriend, supported her during her recent challenges, Kim revealed, “Lagi siyang nandoon sa ospital kasama ko, andoon naman siya lagi.”
Furthermore, Kim Chiu as the new brand endorser emphasizes the shared advocacy between herself and Sisters Sanitary Napkins and Pantyliners. Both Kim and the company are dedicated to supporting young girls in their journey through womanhood.
