Jungo Pinoy is celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month all June long. The newest streaming app for Filipinos hosts the largest Tagalog-dubbed movie library in the world, as well as original films and TV series. The LGBTQ+ genre is one of Jungo Pinoy’s specialties with a great selection of free movies and other titles accessible with a super affordable subscription plan.
This Pride month, Jungo Pinoy is showcasing some of our favorite queer artists, films, and series with these Pride highlights:
- eCupid (Exclusive Tagalog-Dubbed)
This romantic comedy is directed by JC Calciano, known for indie, gay classics like The 10 Year Plan and Steam Room Stories. Starring Morgan Fairchild, Houston Rhines, and Noah Schuffman, a gay man nearing 30-years-old taps into an otherworldly internet advertisement that begins to control his life. Hoping to end his 7-year romance rut, he uses the site to get everything he wants until he discovers that what he thought he wanted wasn’t the thing that would ultimately make him happy.
- Ten Year Plan (Exclusive Tagalog-Dubbed)
This is another romantic comedy directed by JC Calciano, known for indie, gay classics. Starring Jack Turner and Michael Adam Hamilton, best friends make a pact to be together in a decade if neither finds love. With two months left until their deadline, they both scramble to find someone to avoid being each other’s last resort.
- Adan
This fan favorite from the Philippines is a lesbian mystery and romance story. The movie stars Cindy Miranda, Rhen Escano, and the legend Ruby Ruiz. A naive provincial girl finds a way to get a hold of her independence through the help of her girl best friend, but their actions have nerve-shattering consequences. Will things heat up between our two leads before the drama pulls them under? Watch now to find out!
- Daddy Issues
Starring Jo Ashe and Rachel Barry (no, not the Glee character) we have a heart-opening comedy about loss and starting over. When her emotionally distant father dies and leaves her his company, a hapless stand-up comic moves to Los Angeles to take over the family business.
- Tucked
Our Pride highlights wouldn’t be complete without some drag! Next is a raw and tender drama about an aging drag queen who forms an unlikely friendship with a younger queen. As they discover more about each other, they realize how to truly be themselves. Starring Derren Nesbit and Jordan Stephens, this is a slice-of-life-film about love, loss, and friendship.
- Lady Gaga: iTunes Festival
Yes, what would Pride be without pop music and Mother Monster?! Afterall, “Born This Way” is the unofficial LGBTQ+ Pride anthem, right? Celebrate queerness with one of her most creative concerts. Lady Gaga’s performance at the Itunes Music Festival also marked the world premiere of tracks from her album, ARTPOP.
- Sam Smith: Austin City Limits
Lady Gaga doesn’t get all the LGBTQ+ love to herself, Jungo Pinoy also features non-binary superstar Sam Smith! The English singer and songwriter performs their greatest hits such as “Nirvana” and “I Know I’m Not the Only One” on the stage at Austin City Limits.
