TV host-comedian Joey De Leon garnered various reactions from the netizens when asked about the issue of “It’s Showtime” being bumped off or removed from TV5 due to their entry into the Kapatid network.
During their media day on Tuesday, June 20, TVJ (Tito, Vic, and Joey) were asked about their reaction to the seemingly bumping off It’s Showtime from TV5’s noontime slot.
In response, Tito Sotto stated that the word “bumped-off” should be used because what happened was It’s Showtime’s block time contract is about to expire on June 30, and it just so happened that they entered into a co-production agreement with TV5.
“Di naman sila na-bump off, eh. Natapos na yung kontrata nila. So, in fairness to TV5, walang naba-bump off. Matatapos yung kontrata, yun ang pagkakaalam namin.”
Joey De Leon, meanwhile, agreed to Sotto’s remark, saying, “Hindi na-bump off. Mangyayari at mangyayari.”
De Leon further expressed that other TV shows should be thankful to them because they were able to make TV alive again.
“Dapat nga magpasalamat sa amin ‘yung ibang TV shows, ‘di ba, nabuhay sila eh. Ang daming nabuhay, nagkahanapbuhay, alam mo na,” De Leon stated.
De Leon’s comment, meanwhile, didn’t sit well with netizens, who called his remark arrogant and hubristic.

@sikreto_malihim on the other hand blasted TVJ saying they should just admit thay they indeed elbowed It’s Showtime from the noontime slot to prove to TAPE Inc. that they can topple them.
