On June 20, TV host Joey De Leon joked that ‘It’s Showtime’ is trying to make a record of airing on different networks.
At the media event for the TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads, De Leon asserted that ‘Eat Bulaga!’ shook up the Philippine TV industry, which other noontime shows try to emulate.
“Mangyayari at mangyayari ‘yun eh. Kaya lang shorter time sila.
However, he acknowledged that the recent changes in noontime viewing helped reinvigorate television.
“Dapat nga magpasalamat sa amin ‘yung ibang TV show, because nabuhay sila eh. Buhay na buhay, nagkahanap buhay.”
Tito Sotto clarified that the block time agreement with ‘It’s Showtime’ was about to end.
“With due respect to TV5 no, I don’t think the word or the phrase bumped off is really what you should be using. So infairness to TV5, natapos ang kontrata, ‘yun ang pagkakaalam namin.”
‘It’s Showtime’ confirmed they are moving to GMA Network’s channel GTV after their block time agreement with TV5 ends on June 30.
As for TVJ, they will return to TV with a new noontime show under TV5 starting July 1.
Joining them are Legit Dabarkads Allan K, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillio, and Ryza Mae Dizon.
TVJ and the Dabarkads parted ways with TAPE Inc. on May 31 after an internal issue between the noontime show and the company.
