The two talented Kapamilya actors went all out in their love scene, to many viewers’ surprise.
Joshua Garcia is no doubt one of his generation’s most sought after star. With his new tag ‘Mukbang King’, the actor seems poised to even go further in his career. The new title, which netizens and viewers gave him because of his viral kissing scenes with different actresses, may seem a bit funny and silly to some, but it definitely reflects the actor’s immense popularity and being an in-demand personality.
With Unbreak My Heart, the Batangas-native’s career is taking an unprecedented turn, as he stars opposite the more senior, Jodi Sta. Maria, who is nearly twice as old as he is. Sta. Maria is 40, while Garcia is 25. Part of such a turn is Garcia’s widely-talked intimate scenes with Sta. Maria, who admitted doing such scenes are the hardest to do for an actor.
“For me, intimate scenes are the most difficult to do. It will require a certain level of vulnerability and trust from your scene partner, and also from your director, and from everyone na nadoon sa space na ‘yun sa set,” the Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Actress told the press, during the grand press conference last May 25.
“Of course, as actors, we deliver what is required from us, and yes, meron ngang intimate scene between my character and Joshua’s character,” she added.
She revealed that sensuality workshops were provided to the cast, prior to their shoot in Europe, noting they helped to allow them navigate the sensual demands of their roles. “Nakatulong ‘yung discussion about boundaries and what you’re comfortable and not comfortable doing during the scene,” she said.
“So, that’s one of the preparations that we did for the scene. And it’s always reminding yourself that you are not doing this as you, and that you are in the scene as your character,” she clarified.
As for Garcia, he agreed that the workshops really helped them take on their roles with more ease, adding the directors got their backs during the soot.
“Doon namin nasabi ang mga limits namin, kung hanggang saan lang ‘yung kaya namin ibigay at, ‘yung director ang tumahi non para sa amin,” he shared.
He revealed that he did not have difficulty in pulling off the love scenes with both Sta. Maria and another co-star, Gabbi Garcia, noting the help the directors and even his co-actors gave him during the shoot. “Actually akala ko sobrang hirap, pero dahil sa tiwang ibinigay sa akin ni Ate Jodi, at sa alalay nila Direk Manny at Direk Dolly, naging mas madali,” he noted.
The talented Kapamilya actor also added that he used different styles for his intimates scenes with Gabbi Garcia and Jodi Sta. Maria. “Magkaiba ‘yun ng atake. With Jodi, mas passionate, mas mabagal, mas ramdam. With Gabbi, passionate din naman pero ‘yung tugma naman siya sa edad natin,”.
Last Tuesday, Garcia and Sta. Maria’s first intimate scene finally aired. As expected, memes spawned by the episode, immediately went viral, with netizens noting how impressively shot and executed the scene, was. Of course, Joshua’s ‘Mukbang’ and ‘Higop’ king titles, once again became a common sight in the comment section.
Here are some reactions from netizens to the widely-talked about scene:

Ang naiimagine ko sa "You Are Everything" is something more wholesome than this one. As in haplos haplos lang and holding hands. Masyadong torrid yung video. https://t.co/7RSMTh3xwF
