The Kapamilya star extends his gratitude to his fans, as well as his management, for the seemingly uninterrupted streak of high-quality projects.
Filipino American actor, and dancer, Jameson Andrew Blake won’t hesitate to say “yes” if asked to play the iconic Mars Ravelo character, ‘Captain Barbell’. The young Kapamilya leading man expressed his intent to take on the superhero on June 3, at the first anniversary of the free-to-air channel, PIE Channel.
The TV channel is a collaboration among ABS-CBN, BEAM Inc., and ANIMA (formerly Globe Studios).
The actor said, “G na G ako diyan. Ready ako anytime. Siyempre heads up muna kung may ganon.”
He said the idea excites him.
Blake has navigated his career well. From being a Pinoy Big Brother housemate to joining ‘Hashtags’, and eventually landing significant roles in television and movies, the 25-year-old star has emerged to be one of his generation’s most sought-after male stars. In 2016, he was awarded a “Best Supporting Actor” trophy by the C1 Originals Film Festival, a testament to his impressive dramatic skills.
The Kapamilya actor acknowledged his stellar journey and thanked his supporters through the years. He noted how his projects continued uninterrupted amid the pandemic and ABS-CBN shutdown. Last year, he got cast as one of the major stars of the primetime series ‘A Family Affair’. He also joined PIE Channel as one of its newest PIE jocks.

Despite his stellar lineup of projects in the past few years, Blake is yet to land a lead teleserye role. This is let alone a title such as ‘Captain Barbell’.
Is the time ripe for him to lift the mythical barbell? This barbell has gone to the hands of several successful actors like Edu Manzano, Herbert Bautista, Bong Revilla Jr., and Richard Gutierrez.
