On June 7, noontime show hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon officially announced their transfer to the TV5 Network.
Mediaquest made the announcement on Wednesday after entering an agreement with TVJ to produce content for TV5 and other Mediaquest platforms.
“I’m happy that Tito, Vic, and Joey will now call TV5 their home,” said Mediaquest President and CEO Jane Basas. “I’m honored that these pillars of the Philippine entertainment industry have agreed to work with us.
“Our partnership strengthens our ability to continue to deliver the best for Filipino viewers here at home and all over the world,” she added.
Earlier reports revealed that TV5 was rushing renovations of two studios in Reliance Street, Mandaluyong City. This was to accommodate the upcoming noontime show hosted by Tito, Vic, and Joey.
Joining the trio are “Dabarkads” Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Allan K, Ryan Agoncillo, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and Maine Mendoza, who also left TAPE Inc on May 31, 2023.
Additionally, Karla Estrada’s ‘Face 2 Face’ would move to the Novaliches Studio following the renovation of the Reliance Studio. This would lead to Tito, Vic, and Joey’s upcoming TV5 noontime program.
The studio renovations would feature increased audience capacity for the upcoming TV5 noontime show.
Aside from that, others voiced concern about the block time agreement for ‘It’s Showtime,’ which airs from Monday to Saturday via TV5, Kapamilya Channel, and A2Z, after the announcement of the upcoming noontime program of Tito, Vic, and Joey.
According to a source from Reliance Studio, ‘It’s Showtime’ would only be available via Kapamilya Channel and A2Z once the upcoming TV5 show starts airing.
Others also speculate that ‘It’s Showtime’ would have a back-to-back airing with the upcoming show of Tito, Vic, and Joey if the hosts and showrunners agree to give way to the upcoming TV5 show.
The planned changes to TV5’s programming would get finalized once the new noontime show of Tito, Vic, and Joey starts airing.
