Songwriter Lolito Go recently rocked the online world when he made serious accusations against Filipino singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre.
In a Facebook post, Go shared his personal experiences with Dela Torre, claiming that she was more of an oppressor than a victim in their relationship.
However, Dela Torre’s friends rallied behind her, defending her integrity and talent. The online community has been captivated by this unfolding issue, with both sides presenting their arguments and perspectives.
On May 28, Go’s Facebook post gained widespread attention, revealing his personal encounters with Dela Torre.
He accused Dela Torre of capitalizing on her breakup (with Jason Hernandez) by writing songs that only served her interests, while her husband took the brunt of the public backlash.
Go expressed admiration for Hernandez’s faith and resilience in trying to win back Dela Torre’s affection despite the challenges they faced.
“Jason was mocked, wrongly accused, and crucified while Moira was busy washing her hands and capitalizing on their breakup by writing awkward songs that only serve her interests and twisted sense of reality.” Go said.
“Bilib ako sa lalakeng ito, because he carried on with his faith, he admitted to his sins and faced all the consequences. He did everything to win back Moira despite all the pushback.”
Furthermore, Go alleged that Dela Torre had once approached him to be a ghostwriter, offering a meager monthly compensation of Php 20,000. Feeling insulted by the offer, Go decided to keep this information to himself.
“She even asked me kung magkano price ko for ghostwriting for her last year noong nagkakalabuan na sila ni Jason. When I told her my price, tinawaran nya ako for 20k per month. I felt so insulted. But I just kept that to myself.”
In response to these accusations, Jeff Vadillo, a Cornerstone executive and a close friend of Dela Torre, came to her defense on May 28.
Vadillo refuted Go’s claim, stating that in his nearly 20 years of knowing Dela Torre, she had never needed the services of a ghostwriter due to her undeniable talent and creativity.
“I would also like to add that in the almost 20 years I’ve known Moira, she would never need the service of a Ghostwriter for her songs/Compositions (which this other person is claiming na tumawad pa daw si Moira to the tune of 20k). Masyado genius si Moira to need that.”
Migz Haleco, another musical artist, also showed support for Dela Torre in a Facebook post on May 29. Haleco attested to Dela Torre’s remarkable songwriting abilities and expressed his confidence in her artistic prowess.
“I can say, without a doubt, Moira is an incredible songwriter. My girlfriend Saskia and I can attest to this.” Haleco wrote.
Dela Torre herself took to Instagram to address the controversy.
In her post on May 29, she vehemently denied ever employing a ghostwriter, seeking to set the record straight once and for all.
“I want to set things straight once and for all. Let me be clear: I have never employed a ghostwriter,” she said.

However, Go retaliated by sharing a screenshot of a conversation with a deactivated account, suggesting that it belonged to Dela Torre. He claimed that the truth could never be deactivated and hinted at the existence of more evidence to follow.
“Deactivated na ang account. Wala na yung name. But the truth can never be deactivated… More resibos to follow,” Go captioned.
Dela Torre’s other friends, including audio engineer Timothy Recla and backup vocalist Ren Cortez, rallied behind her, supporting her against the allegations made by Go. They vouched for her integrity and defended her character.
Film producer, Joji Alfonso also expressed her outrage over the lies propagated by Go in a Facebook post on May 28. Alfonso called for accountability and stated that legal action should be taken against the individual responsible for spreading falsehoods.
“Then today, someone writes a story filled with lies and decides to make it a “pinned post”, with no intention other than discrediting and maligning said client. No matter how much I believe in forging peaceful co-existence, this is not one we will let pass.” she said.
“This someone must be sued and take accountability.” She added.
Amid the ongoing accusations and controversies, actor-director John Prats stood by Dela Torre, expressing his unwavering support and love for her. Prats reassured her that he would always be a big brother figure in her life.
“Praying na sana maging mapayapa na ang lahat. I’ll always be your kuya! Big hug and I love you @moiradelatorre,” Prats wrote.
