Darren Espanto and Cassy Legaspi got to dive deep into “Elemental” and were transported to Element City to meet its residents during their recent visit to the Pixar Animation Studios in California. The pair set hearts aflutter as they documented and shared their adventures on their social media pages.
Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
During their tour of the Pixar Animation Studio, Darren and Cassy got to flex their acting chops and tried voice acting as Wade and Ember, respectively. Watch the video here.
Darren and Cassy were also immersed in the filmmaking process behind the film, learning how to draw “Elemental” characters and interviewing some of the filmmakers, animators, and Filipino artists that brought the story to life. Among them were the film’s director Peter Sohn, and fellow Filipinos Aylwin Villanueva, Sets Technical Lead, and Ronnie del Carmen, the voice actor behind Bernie Lumen, the dad of Ember.
Making the most of their visit, Darren and Cassy got to see more of their favorite Pixar characters and films at the Pixar Studios’ Art Gallery and Campus Studio.
Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, “Elemental” features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh. The film’s original score was composed and conducted by Thomas Newman. “Elemental” opens only in theaters on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
