After a long hiatus, ‘Crazy as Pinoy’ is back under a new record label, Blvck Music.
During the press conference on May 16, the legendary group opened up about their highly anticipated comeback and the hurdles they faced along the way.
In regards to legal matters, the group acknowledged that their album released in 2003 was under MCA Universal. They discussed the transition of rights to releasing their songs again. They revealed that they encountered numerous challenges when uploading their music, as they had to request a whitelist to gain access.
The group stated, “Sa umpisa madami talaga kaming challenge sa uploading, nakiusap po kami for whitelist, hanggang sa maging okay na yung agreement at the same time yung Crazy as Pinoy matagal na silang hindi nakalabas, yung matagal na nilang pinapanagrap na MV at least ngayon na release na.”
Bassilyo, also known as Lordivino Ignacio, along with Sisa (Muriel Jamito) and Crispin (Jeffrey Pilien), formed the group ‘Crazy as Pinoy’ and is considered one of the pioneers of the Filipino hip-hop scene.
Moreover, the group shared intriguing details about their new release changes. They emphasized Sisa’s voice evolution, noting that she has matured since her younger days. This adds depth to their music.
As for the arrangement, they assured fans that while there have been some minor changes, they have remained true to their original style.
“Sa boses lalo na kay Sisa kasi dalaga pa lang siya noon ngayon matured na, of course sa arrangement onti lang yung nabago, minaintain pa rin natin kung paano nila sinimulan, may mga differences pero pinaganda natin ngayon.”
After their prolonged absence, ‘Crazy as Pinoy’ has finally realized their long-held dream of releasing a music video for their hit song ‘Panaginip’ taking their fans on a nostalgic journey to the good old days.
