’90s hit hip-hop group, Crazy as Pinoy, is back with the highly awaited music video for their hit song Panaginip.
In their much-anticipated comeback this year, the group shared insights about the changes in the music industry during their press conference at the BLVCK creatives studio in Quezon City on May 16.
When asked about their current audience, Bassilyo couldn’t help but emphasize the distinctiveness of their crowd.
Bassilyo (Lordivino Ignacio), Sisa (Muriel Jamito), and Crispin (Jeffrey Pilien), widely recognized as Crazy As Pinoy, and considered pioneers of Pinoy rap music, make a successful return to the music scene under BLVCK Entertainment.
The group’s ability to connect with their listeners stems from their knack for weaving real-life experiences into their songs.
“Marami lalo na ngayon sobrang dami ng artists,” Said Bassilyo, referring to the competition in the hip-hop industry.
Sisa also highlighted that love songs played a significant role in their success.
The group’s ability to appeal to different generations is something they take pride in.
Crispin emphasized the importance of connecting with the millennial generation, stating, “Kailangan makuha namin yung mga millennial ngayon, dati kasi puro mga batang 90’s. Masaya kami kasi nakuha nila yung music namin.”
The newly released music video of Panaginip, originally released in 2003 and directed by Titus Cee and Jon Gutierrez, who is widely known as King Badger.
