On May 31, Viva star Christine Bermas talked about her journey to landing dramatic roles.
At the media conference for ‘Hilom’, which LionhearTV covered, Bermas addressed whether her role in the film was a sign of her becoming a dramatic actress.
Bermas answered, “Getting there, yeah.”
As for her role in the film, she described it as a light role compared to her previous sexy projects.
She then revealed why she accepted the Hilom role.
“Itong Hilom, rom-com siya, medyo light siya for me. Iba talaga siya sa mga nagawa ko before kasi na-stick ako sa serious acting at action movies, so itong Hilom naman, medyo light siya for me pero–medyo light ‘yung story niya pero, medyo challenging din siya for me kahit light. Kasi it’s more on acting also, and parang as a sweet girl for me, and parang it’s more of love story for me.”
Bermas accepted the role in ‘Hilom’ because of the beautiful storyline. Added to it, the film is produced by Viva Films and is directed by Direk GB Sampedro whose works she really admires.
She also recalled how it was working with her co-stars, citing their collaborative environment.
“Si Arron, siya ‘yung leading man dito, so–actually na work ko siya sa NightBird pero wala kaming scene together. And then now, siya ‘yung leading man ko.”
She added, “Sobrang bait, sobrang professional, sobrang ang gaan ka-work and natutulungan kami together… excited ako to meet to work sa kanilang lahat. And excited ako sa kalalabasan ng film kaya tinanggap ko itong film.”
‘Hilom’ stars Arron Villaflor Bermas, Julia Victoria, Alma Moreno, Billy Villeta, TJ Valderama, Kedebon Colim, Kyo Quijano, Lara Morena, Liz Alindogan, Apple Castro, Cathy Ashley, Sheila Snow, and Chariz Po.
Under the direction of multi-genre director GB Sampedro, Hilom streams via Vivamax on June 9.
