On May 31, seasoned actress Carmi Martin admitted that she got traumatized by dating, which led her to believe she would be single for the rest of her life.
During her interview at ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ Martin recounted what she learned about dating, and she surmised she would rather be single for the rest of her life.
“Na-trauma. Yes, I guess the reason why I decided to be single for the rest of my life, and dedicated my life to the Lord.”
Martin then clarified that she is happy with her life, especially with her fur babies.
“I’m happy with my dogs, I’m happy everyday. Pero ‘yung tungkol sa mga lalaki right now, I’m done.”
Aside from what she learned from dating, Martin also gave advice to new artists about their careers.
“Kahit nadadapa ka, kasi marami ring rejections sa akin–never stop. Like for example, right now, sabihin nila na ‘Oh, parang hindi ka tumatanda?’ It’s an investment to look good, at ‘yung pangalagaan mo [sarili mo], health-wise kailangan din pangalagan mo ‘yung sarili mo.
“Ngayon marami ang natutuwa kasi nag-acting workshop ako. Ivana Chubbuck acting workshop. It’s an investment kasi gusto kong mas gumaling pa ako sa drama, alam kong marami pa akong matututunan sa craft ko.”
The 59-year-old actress, who starred in films such as Bagong Hari (1986), No Other Woman (2011), and Working Boys (1985), has been tightlipped with the people she dated in the past. However, she admitted to her preference for dating younger men.
She also disclosed having an ex-boyfriend who later came out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
