In a surprising announcement, GMA Network revealed on June 19 that a popular show would be changing its airtime slot.
While no official confirmation was provided, netizens strongly believe that the show is the beloved comedy program ‘Bubble Gang.’
GMA Network’s cryptic post read: “May lilipat? Goodbye Friday, hello SUNday! SUN ka punta? Chewing soon on GMA!”
According to circulating rumors, Bubble Gang will be transitioning to a Sunday evening slot, airing at 6:00 PM beginning first week of July.
Despite the shift in schedule, viewers can rest assured that the show’s main hosts Michael V, Paolo Contis, Chariz Solomon, and Betong Sumaya will continue to entertain audiences with their comedic talents.
In addition to the airtime change, Bubble Gang is also set to introduce new talents to its roster. Speculation is rife that popular YouTuber, Vlogger, and Social Media influencer Zeinab Harake is joining the show. However, when approached for confirmation, show staff remained tight-lipped, stating that they were unaware of the potential addition.
While auditions have taken place for new cast members, no official announcements have been made regarding successful candidates.
Michael V then also took the opportunity to express his sincere farewell to some of the stars of ‘Bubble Gang,’ emphasizing that their departure from the show is due to various reasons.
“May iba’t ibang reasons naman kung bakit kinakailangang mawala yung characters, o yung mga artista, or cast sa bawat show na ginagawa ko,” V said.
“And hindi lang naman iisa yung dahilan. Hindi lang naman isa yung pinanggagalingan ng dahilan. More often than not, ano iyan, network decision. And we always respect that,” he added.
‘Bubble Gang’ first premiered on GMA Network on October 20, 1995. Inspired by the gag show ‘Tropang Trumpo,’ the program was conceived by the comic genius Michael V and the multi-talented artist Ogie Alcasid. Fans eagerly await the show’s debut in its new time slot, ready to enjoy the same laughter and entertainment they have come to love over the years.
