On June 17, Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves addressed the ‘pack-up’ rumors about their show ‘Magandang Dilag’ because of Herlene Budol.
At the media conference for the series, Alves clarified that it was ‘natural’ to have scheduling conflicts with TV shows and that he did not consider this an issue.
“Hindi naman, ‘yung pack-up naman natural lang naman sa schedule. Kapag sa schedule, kung hindi talaga mame-meet ‘yung schedule, mangyayari at mangyayari ‘yun. Kahit naman–normal lang po ‘yun. Wala pong issue ‘yun.”
He then stressed that Budol was not a cause of delay for the cast and production of their upcoming Kapuso series.
“Magiging issue ‘yun kung may nagkasabay na walang ano, pero it’s never been delayed, she’s never been a cause of delay, never naman siyang nale-late sa set, at ‘yun nga never naman siyang nade-delay sa eksena.”
Alves also said that the number of opportunities for Budol is a blessing.
“Wala naman, at tsaka kung busy siya, at marami siyang trabaho, blessing ‘yun, blessing ‘yun. Never naman siyang naging ano. Again with the schedule, kaya nga siya tinawag na schedule talaga, wala ng ganong issue.”
As for his role in the series, Alves recounted how he got the offer for ‘Magandang Dilag.’
“Nasabi sa akin ‘to a few months after Artikulo 247, tapos nag-formulate sila ng show. Kumbaga–hindi kami naka– nasabi sa akin or nabigay sa akin ‘yung show, hindi lang kami nakapag taping agad because ‘yun nga nagpapandemic na hindi ko alam kung anong nangyayari. So ito we, we’re trying our best na hindi mag-lock in.”
Earlier, rumors surfaced claiming that Budol’s co-stars were complaining about the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 1st Runner-Up for allegedly causing a delay in the production of their series because of her jam-packed schedule.
‘Magandang Dilag’ stars Budol, Alves, and Rob Gomez.
The cast also features Sandy Andolong, Chanda Romero, Muriel Lomadilia, Adrian Alandy, Maxine Medina, Bianca Manalo, Angela Alarcon, Prince Clemente, and Jade Tecson.
Under the direction of Don Michael Perez, ‘Magandang Dilag’ airs on GMA Network Afternoon Prime starting June 26.
