The It’s Showtime host acknowledged the noontime show’s need to evolve through time, to cater to the right audiences.
Anne Curtis recently renewed her commitment to UNICEF Philippines as one of its goodwill ambassadors. Last June 1, during the contract signing, held at the Rockwell Businesses Center Sheridan in Mandaluyong City, Curtis shared the relevance of being an entertainer, and a UNICEF ambassador.
As a first time mom, Curtis expressed her deeper understanding of the role, and in raising awareness about children’s rights. She said it became more profound to her as one of the segments in the noontime show she currently hosts, involves kids.
Curtis has been one of the main hosts of the noontime show, It’s Showtime, since airing for the first time, fourteen years ago. The time she has, so far, spent in the show also made her realize about the changes it has gone through, to remain relevant, and serve its purpose not just to entertain the audience, but to educate them on matters that are closest to her role as a UNICEF ambassador.
“I think as times change, you also have to evolve and keep up with the viewers. I mean, the viewers grew up with us, but throughout the years, we’ve had more viewers coming along, joining the Showtime community. As you can see now, we have children on the show, who are joining and watching,” she shared.
The actress expressed her hopes for the show to remain on air and to continue delivering joy and inspiration to its viewers.
“So, I think it’s about being innovative and keeping up with the times, because it’s just the way it works, and hopefully we’re able to last throughout the years,” she noted.
It’s Showtime currently airs on TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and various online platforms of ABS-CBN.
