The feat marks the first time an ABS-CBN show emerged as the overall top rated TV program in the country, months since another Coco Martin-starrer ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ ended its seven years of being on air.
‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ was Philippines’ most watched TV show last June 21 according to Nielsen Philippines. The Coco Martin series bested out frequent leader ’24 Oras,’ the primetime newscast of GMA Network.
Not only did the Kapamilya action drama dominate its time slot; it also emerged as the overall number 1 show in the country. This marks the second time an ABS-CBN-produced program topped the ratings chart, the first being the historic finale of ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ on August 12, 2022.
‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ bumped ’24 Oras’ off the no.1 spot by merely 0.1, 12.7 against 12.6. It can be recalled that the finale of ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ finale was also number one by just 0.1.
Beyond free television, the Kapamilya action-drama continues to reign supreme in the digital realm, drawing at least 300,000 nightly live concurrent viewers on Youtube alone. On June 22, it peaked at 324,000 live concurrent viewers, becoming the most watched local TV series streaming live on the video-sharing platform.
As events continue to get more interesting in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ it is no surprise seeing the show maintain its impressive lead in the ratings game.
