Willie Revillame, popularly known as the generous host of Wowowin: Tutok to Win, cancels contract signing with VIVA Entertainment after the entertainment company demanded a big 40% cut from Revillame’s income.
This was revealed in Showbiz Now Na, a show-oriented vlog hosted by Christy Fermin, Romel Chika, and Wendell Alvarez.
According to Fermin’s source, the entertainment company was supposed to be handling Revillame’s career and was already planning an international concert tour for the artist.
Revillame and Viva Entertainment already decided that the entertainment company will only take 20% of the income generated by the artist’s concert. However, the entertainment company was informed of another 20% cut allegedly for booking and finder’s fee.
According to Fermin’s source, this prompted Revillame to cancel signing contracts with Viva Entertainment.
However, as of this moment, Revillame and Viva Entertainment have yet to give their response and official statements regarding this issue.
Revillame and his famed show, Wowowin, officially left GMA Network on February 15, 2022, with the final episode of Wowowin airing last February 11 of the same year. This is after Revillame was in talks with Senator Manny Villar about the politician’s new network, AMBS.
Revillame left GMA Network for “decency” because he was helping the politician in planning for AMBS which at that time, had no plans yet because of the politician’s inexperience in the field.
The TV host was set to continue his program on AMBS but was postponed because of issues with the network. The channel was supposed to be officially launched in January of 2023 but could not continue because the studios to be used were still not finished.
AMBS, however, promised to still pay the talent fee of their artists despite their programs being postponed.
After this, Revillame terminated his contract with the network because he refused to be a “burden” after earning his wage even without his program airing.
