GMA Network’s much-awaited live-action adaptation of the classic anime Voltes V: Legacy will start head-to-head with Pinoy primetime TV habit FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ).
In a tweet on Friday, April 28, Kapuso head writer and creative consultant Suzette Doctolero invited viewers to watch the TV premiere of Voltes V: Legacy starting on May 8.

In its cinematic experience in several SM Cinemas from April 19 to May 2, Voltes V: Legacy will grace the country’s primetime TV screens, battling it all out against the current number-one teleserye FPJBQ.
With FPJBQ’s proven track record in the rating game, expect a dead-heat rating battle between the two–given the good reviews and word of mouth of Voltes V: Legacy in its theatrical run.
Directed by Mark Reyes, Voltes V also takes pride in being the first 100 percent Filipino-made television series to employ graphics and CGI comparable to Hollywood films.
