April 18, during the ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ press conference, actor Martin Del Rosario shared a fascinating experience during a shoot. He was supposed to jump off a high stage after his monologue.
According to him, “Yung eksena na si Zardoz tatalon sya doon sa flame, yung eksena mataas yung stage tapos nakita ko may foam sa baba, after ko mag monologue tatalon ako yun yung pagkakaintindi ko, after ng monologue ko tumalon ako tapos nagulat ako sina Direk sumigaw na ‘Martin bakit ka tumalon?!'”
The director and other crew members were definitely surprised why the actor jumped.
Mark Reyes, the director, clarified that they were planning to put a safety harness on Martin before he jumps. Despite this, they got a good take on the scene without it. The director said, “Because it was there for safety, we were gonna put a safety harness on him. He jumped, but we got it in a nice take, so I used that.”
Martin’s misunderstanding of the scene could have led to a dangerous situation, but fortunately, safety measures were in place. Martin knows that a lot of responsibility has been entrusted to him to play a very significant role as Prince Zardoz. Prince Zardoz in ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ is the prince of the Boazanian Empire who wants to conquer Planet Earth.
On May 8, 2023, GMA-7 will finally broadcast this adaptation, which Kapuso President and CEO Felipe Gozon described as “very difficult and very expensive” to produce.
