Voltes V: Legacy stars Martin del Rosario and Liezel Lopez spilled behind-the-scenes secrets about the iconic costumes of Prince Zardoz and Zandra.

From tight suits to heavy armor, the stars dish on the highs and lows of dressing up as the beloved prince and his adviser. You won’t believe what they had to go through to bring these characters to life!
Martin shared, “Nung mga first leg ng taping, ‘Parang ang gwapo ko, ang angas.’ Pero nung bandang dulo, ‘Eto na naman, sawang-sawa na ako suotin.’”
According to the actor, he had to film multiple heavy fighting scenes with his Prince Zardoz costume on. One of the most challenging parts for Martin was the makeup process, which usually took him 40-45 minutes. The actor also found the heat almost unbearable.
He shared, “Pinaka-worry ko dito ay yung init. Kasi sobrang init e, nakabalot, may net, may wig — tapos may coat pa na mabigat.”
Liezel, on her costume, revealed during the April 12 press conference that they changed Zandra’s costume from a long gown into an armor-like costume.
In addition, during the first fitting of the costume, Liezel admitted, “Well, ako po, sobrang excited nung nag-fitting kami dito sa condo ko. Nung first fitting namin, hindi pa siya masyadong sexy.”
“Nakakaproud, actually, nung suot ko na yung costume, parang ‘Oh my god, ito na, start na siya, start na kami mag-taping, this is it.’ Mas feel mo din yung character pag suot mo na yung costume,” the actress added.
While Martin revealed that, “Nung suot ko na yung costume, nakakatuwa kasi gayang-gaya yung sa original costume ni Prince Zardoz. Yung mga small details, napapansin pa kasi, grabe yung effort na gayahin talaga yung nasa original. Even yung sa story, sa costume, even yung mga framing, yung mga camera angles, tina-try talagang gayahin yung sa anime. So talagang yung mga loyal fans talaga dito matutuwa.”
Liezel Lopez is set to play the fierce and fabulous ‘Zandra’ in the highly anticipated live-action film and TV series. And she’s not alone! Lopez will be joined by a star-studded cast including Martin Del Rosario, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
