Tracy Maureen Perez, the 2021 Miss World-Philippines, has been announced as the latest ambassador for Beauty Wise Philippines, a leading skincare brand. The announcement was made during the media launch event held last weekend on April 28, which also introduced the company’s new CEO, Abdania Galo.
As a proud Morena beauty queen hopes to inspire young people to embrace their unique skin color and redefine traditional beauty standards.
“Beauty is subjective, but I’d like to think myself as someone beautiful and use it in a way na hopefully ma-encourage ko mga bata. Hindi ako maputi, usually when we talk about skin care puro mapuputi or makikinis, I’m one of the few endorsers na proudly morena,” she said.
Despite her title as a beauty queen, Tracy revealed that she had to overcome insecurities about her skin color.
“It took me a long time (referring to accepting her skin color). It took me a lot of validation from my friend and the industry na maganda pala ako. Before I became Ms. World Philippines it took me three tries,” she shared.
During the press conference, Tracy also shared her plans for the future. She said that she has no plans to join more beauty pageants and wants to focus on making a name for herself.
“Hindi ko po alam honestly. I would also want to make a name for myself.”
Tracy was grateful to Beauty Wise for allowing her to represent their brand.
“I know if they give me a chance, I know I can make it out there. So thankful din ako sa Beauty Wise,” she said.
