On April 28, Viva actor Sean de Guzman expressed his hopes that the film ‘Fall Guy’ would get local recognition in the Philippines.
At the media conference for ‘Fall Guy’, which LionhearTV covered, de Guzman highlighted the value of recognition from his fellow Filipinos.
De Guzman won the “Best Actor” award at the Chithiram International Film Festival in India (September 2022) and the Anatolian Film Awards sa Turkey (August 2022.)
He felt proud that Filipinos could finally see his award-winning performance in ‘Fall Guy’.
“Of course, sobrang tuwa po noong malaman ko na nanalo po ako ng award sa pelikulang ‘to. And sobrang proud po ako na maipapalabas na po ito dito sa atin ito pong pinaghirapan po naming lahat. Sobrang nakaka-overwhelm po.”
As for winning awards, de Guzman shared how he stays humble amid the praises through constant learning as an actor.
In his words, he never stops learning. He also pointed out, “Huwag nating ilalagay sa ulo kasi kapag nilagay natin sa ulo ‘yung ganong papuri, lalaki ‘yung ulo, magiging kampante ka, parang sa next movie mo, parang iisipin mo, ah kaya mo na ‘yan. Magaling na ako. So lagi kong iniisip na hindi pa rin ako magaling para mayroon pa rin akong mailabas, para may mapapatunayan pa rin akos a taong nanonood sa akin.”
As for ‘Fall Guy’, the social-crime-drama film stars de Guzman, Glydel Mercado, Shamaine Buencamino, Vance Larena, Cloe Barreto, Quinn Carrillo, Marco Gomez, Karl Aquino, Tina Paner, Jim Pebanco, Pancho Carrillo, Mark Cardona, Tiffany Grey, Azekah Alvarez, Nisa Ortiz, Hershie de Leon, and Itan Magnaye.
Under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Joel Lamangan, ‘Fall Guy’ streams via Vivamax on May 12.
