In 2019, rumors surfaced that Dee was a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Blind Items claimed she had a romantic relationship with another female Kapuso star, Mikee Quintos.
However, she went on the record to clarify the score between her and Quintos, noting they were high school friends.
“Yes, we’re very good friends–since high school.”
She has also actively supported advocacies that benefit the LGBTQIA+ community–even before she joined the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
And in an interview, she clarified that she is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community while also highlighting her other advocacies for autism awareness and mental health.
As for her history in a beauty competition, Dee has also competed in the 2019 Miss World pageant.
