The “Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Star”, Vice Ganda’s statement is suspected by many netizens as a response to Gonzaga’s viral “Wag natin sila papasukin” statement.
Vice Ganda pulled off a grand comeback on the noontime show, ‘It’s Showtime’, yesterday, May 1, during its return to the 12-noon slot. The show previously aired in the 12:45 PM time slot on TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Channel. The show’s return to its original time slot also marks the comedian host’s comeback after performing in the United States and Canada.
The extravagant production number he performed yesterday, however, isn’t the only surprise Vice Ganda delivered. He seemingly responded to a recent viral clip showing Alex Gonzaga teasing her fellow ‘Tropang LOL’ hosts. This was not to allow the next show to start airing on time. Now off the air, ‘Tropang LOL’ aired before ‘It’s Showtime’.
“Wag na natin ‘tong tapusin. Mag-overtime tayo. Wag natin sila papasukin,” Gonzaga said in the clip, which earned the ire of many netizens anew.
As a response, Vice Ganda joked, “We’re back! Ang taray! Nakapasok ba tayo on time?” to his co-hosts. That said, he also teased the audience, as well as the management of both A2Z and TV5, that they might still run over time.
“Ngayon wala nang antayan, balik 12 noon na tayo! Alam na this—more more kwentuhan, more kulitan, more GV, wala nang bitinan for the sake of madlang society!”, the comedian shared.
“Nako kumapit kayo, kahit more time baka mag-overtime pa!” Vice Ganda added.
Now in its 14th year on air, ‘It’s Showtime’ remains one of the most popular daytime shows in the country. Eclipsing the show’s return to its original slot is the semi-finals week of its long-running singing competition, ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ which is set to hold its Huling Tapatan or Grand Finals, this Saturday, May 6, 2023.
