GCash, a leading fintech firm in the Philippines, recently launched its latest non-fungible token (NFT) project called “House of Ohlala” with the collaboration of Likha, a homegrown NFT marketplace, and Vinyl on Vinyl, an art gallery.
The event on April 25, hosted by the popular celebrity couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young, added their charm to the launch.
Reen Barrera created the art and is an artist known for his signature character “Ohlala.” It serves as the inspiration for the NFT collection.
According to GCash, buyers of the Ohlala NFTs will receive exclusive prizes, artwork, and other benefits. Holders of the NFTs may even win one of four Ohlala statues to be raffled off every quarter. Additionally, the owners of the 10 editions of 1/1 NFTs will receive a free Giclee print of their digital collectible, while GCash trait holders will receive a special artwork drop.
Megan shared in her Instagram post that Reene Barrera is their favorite artist, and they had a blast hosting the GCash event launch where they got to meet other art collectors, web3 individuals, and the GCash team. The celebrity couple even received signed notebooks from the artist himself.
According to Megan via Instagram, “GM from Bonez and Fofo! Last night we hosted the launch of Reen Barrera’s NFT Collection – HOUSE OF OHLALA ✨Aside from hosting, we also had fun talking and getting to know other art collectors, web3 individuals and the GCASH team! We even got Reen to sign the notebooks that were given at the event!! In partnership with GCash, Likha and Vinyl on Vinyl, the collection is based on his signature character “Ohlala”.
