The Viva talent was welcomed by his new home studio yesterday, May 11, at Seda Hotel in Vertis North, Quezon City.
Matteo Guidicelli’s coming home to GMA Network has stirred excitement among his fans, as well as well as loyal Kapuso viewers, who are delighted to see him joining the currently no.1 TV station in the country. His move to GMA, however, subsequently made people wonder, if his superstar wife, Sarah Geronimo, is following suit soon.
“Hindi po natin alam eh,” he clarified. “Magaling mag-negosyo si Attorney Gozon at Madam Nessa, so di natin alam. Maybe, but we never know,”.
Geronimo’s departure from ABS-CBN has long been a subject of speculation, especially when she took a break from ASAP Natin ‘To to attend to her married life with Guidicelli, in November 2020. She proved she was not leaving her home studio for nearly two decades, yet, when she officially returned live to the ASAP Natin ‘To stage, last December 2022.
During the media conference for Guidicelli’s contract signing with GMA Public Affairs, he got asked whether there is a possibility for him to give his wife a ride, to GMA Network. The Popstar royalty , it can be recalled, was also once a Kapuso star.
“Kahit saan, iaangkas ko siya,” he shared, relating his answer to his upcoming Kapuso drama series, Black Rider, whose taping is set to commence in October. He will star the series alongside Kapuso primetime prince, Ruru Madrid.
Guidicelli teased his followers of the projects lined up for him in GMA. “Marami pa…pero dahan dahan muna dahil marami na…” he said, when asked what projects does he aspire to have, aside what has been already laid out for him by his new home network.
Asked about the Kapuso actors he wants to collaborate with in a project, he mentioned Dingdong Dantes, Kim Atienza, Drew Arellano, Solenn Heusaff, and Ruru Madrid. As his first Kapuso project, he will start co-hosting the morning news magazine show, Unang Hirit, beginning on May 15.
