Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla revealed that she discovered her true friends after her husband Robin Padilla ran for senator.
In Bea Alonzo’s vlog on May 20, the actress-vlogger said that she learned about her true friends based on how they supported her husband.
She explained that some did not support her husband Robin Padilla and downgraded him.
The actress expressed, “Siguro that’s why you really cannot put politics to join sa friendship. Siyempre may part na mahe-hurt ka but at the end of the day, kung aalagaan ko ‘yung hurt na ‘yun, kami lang naman ang talo eh.”
“Okay na sa akin na hindi mo kami tinulungan pero at least hindi ka nagsalita against us. ‘Yung nagsalita ka pa against us, hindi ko na ‘yun matatanggap,” she added.
Padilla said she chose to remain silent to avoid escalating the situation.
Padilla explained, “Sometimes when it’s about Robin, mas na-a-affect ako na gusto kong mag-answer back. Kaso feeling ko baka, one, lalaki lalo. Two, hindi ko naman alam talaga what I’m saying tapos maging worse pa yung situation so hindi na lang.”
Robin Padilla ran for senator in 2022 and placed first, garnering 27 million votes. He assumed Senate office on June 30, 2022.
