Kapamilya star Jane De Leon revealed she is working on several projects after her Darna stint.
De Leon starred in Mars Ravelo’s Darna series, which aired from August 15, 2022, to February 10, 2023.
Her co-star Joshua Garcia already had a new series lined up for him–Unbreak My Heart, where he will star with Jodi Sta. Maria, Gabbi Garcia, and Richard Yap.
It led netizens to question De Leon’s whereabouts since there were no reported TV projects for her after Darna.
But in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Push on May 4, she revealed that she took a short vacation before receiving new projects.
“Actually after ‘Darna,’ ang dami ngang nagsasabi na nasaan na raw ako … Inaantay nila ako. Hindi raw ako nagpapakita. Una, nag-vacation muna ako, and I did a lot of shoots nga, especially endorsements. And, may mga upcoming projects talaga ako, especially movies. Hindi lang po talaga namin pwede sabihin sa lahat and gusto namin surprise.”

And, maraming good news naman na dumarating sa ’kin after ‘Darna’ kaya ngayong May actually, ine-enjoy ko na ‘yung time ko kasi malapit na mag-start ulit ‘yung projects. Actually more than one ‘yung movie… So marami talaga kayong aabangan,” she said.
She then teased that she would take on a new genre and character.
“Siguro something new sa action [genre] kasi nakita ako lagi ng tao na seryoso ako lagi sa ‘Probinsyano,’ sa ‘Darna.’ I think medyo nalalayo naman sa mga ganoong karakter.”
She then shared that she constantly communicates with her Darna co-stars Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador.
“For now, kami nina Janella and Joshua, I think we have our own projects muna after ‘Darna,’ and sana soon, maybe after, we can do a collab together.
“Actually, kasi kakagaling ko lang din Singapore so sabi nga ni Jea, lagi nga niya akong kinukulit, kailan na ba ako babalik? And maybe this week, baka magkita kami kasi I promised nga na bibisita ako sa kanya kasi galing din siyang Japan. So continuous naman ‘yung communication namin together.
On the other hand, when De Leon did not reveal her lined-up projects, Ogie Diaz mentioned that the actress was challenging to work with.
“Ang sabi, parang medyo mahirap daw katrabaho si Jane. Ang sabi pa medyo may kaartehan daw si Jane sa set,” he said.
But Diaz also said that the Kapamilya female star could have bad hair days at the time.
