Showbiz columnist Lolit Solis claimed that Filipino-American actress Liza Soberano continues to drive her career into destruction after her viral statement about love teams.
On April 28, Soberano was invited to speak on a podcast with Korean influencers Ashley Choi and Peniel.
The actress talked about her career in the Philippines and claimed that one has to be in a love team to make it big in showbiz.
“In the Philippines, the only way to become a big star really, if you’re not a singer, if you’re an actor, is to be in a love team,” she said.
In Solis’ Instagram post on April 29, she said Soberano was ruining her career in the Philippines.
“Talagang ayaw huminto ni Liza Soberano sa self destruction na ginagawa niya, Salve. Ngayon naman parang know it all na alam niya ang issue tungkol sa loveteam. Sayang ang maganda niyang career na sinimulan sa Pilipinas na parang sinira niya dahil lang sa Hollywood dream niya,” Solis said.
Soberano recently made a huge step in her career as she left her home network ABS-CBN and even her talent manager Ogie Diaz to try Hollywood.
Solis then said that Soberano seemed like a “know-it-all” now.
She also mentioned, “Mahirap talaga pag ganyan para bang alam mo ang lahat, wala ka pang napapatunayan pero ang yabang mo ng magbigay ng komento.”
Solis explained that many have tried Hollywood and several have failed. It’s her hope that Soberano will succeed, just as her name “HOPE” implies.
Liza Soberano is set to appear in the forthcoming American horror comedy film, ‘Lisa Frankenstein,’ penned by Diablo Cody. The film marks Zelda Williams’ first feature-length directorial effort.
