On April 30, actress-beauty queen Gloria Diaz remarked that she would shock her family with the amount of cursing in her top-billed film, ‘Lola Magdalena.’

At the story conference for ‘Lola Magdalena’, which LionhearTV covered, Diaz expressed her hopes to surprise her family with her role as an aging prostitute in ‘Lola Magdalena.’

When asked if she cursed at home, she enthusiastically replied, “Oo, pero shit, kaya ko yan. Gusto ko nga eh, magulat sila eh.”

Mike de Jesus, her partner, is also supportive of her career and role.

The beauty queen is very open to her partner who is now the president of DBP (Development Bank of the Philippines). She said de Jesus is very proud of her and her craft.

Diaz shared, “He always says, ‘You have/ to do the acting to the max.’ Mahilig kasi ‘yun manood ng indie films, mga ganon, not the regular–. So he said, you have to do your best, so sabi ko, ‘Pwede ba, praktisan mo ako?'”

She then noted how her schedule was busier than her daughter, Isabelle Diaz who is at present living in Hong Kong.

Diaz shared, “My daughter always says, ‘Mama, you know, you should do this, you should do that.’ Sabi ko, ‘No, I cannot’. And she’s ‘Anyway, you’re not doing anything.’ ‘Anong you’re not doing anything, I’m busier than you.’ Sabi ko sa kaniya. So sabi ko sa kaniya, you should be thankful.”

She also felt thankful and happy to continue landing lead roles. Diaz said, “I’m really, really happy and grateful na lagi akong busy and lahat ng ginagawa ko. I super love it. I’m really the luckiest person, kasi even when I started movies, I was not sure where to go, somehow God planned it for me. And I’m still here, lumalaban pa.”

As for their film, ‘Lola Magdalena’ stars Diaz, Sunshine Cruz, Liza Lorena, Pia Moran, Perla Bautista, Joonee Gamboa, Marcus Madrigal, Angel Guardian, and Carlo San Juan.

The project will begin filming this year, led by Joel Lamangan and scripted by Dennis Evangelista.
