On May 21, Kapamilya star Elisse Joson recalled an early Mother’s Day celebration with McCoy De Leon.
At the media conference for Miutiso, which LionhearTV covered, Joson detailed her simple celebration with De Leon on Mother’s Day.
The character actress shared, “Actually, Mother’s Day–McCoy had work, so it was an early celebration for us. And it was very simple. We just ate in a restaurant, and then McCoy surprised me with some flowers and Mother’s Day balloons. Tapos ‘yun kumain lang kami doon.”
She also noted how she and De Leon are looking at more practical ways to celebrate occasions instead of grand gestures.
She then discussed how “hands-on” De Leon is with their daughter Felize.
She said, “With McCoy, he’s a very hands-on dad. Whenever I have work, siya naman yung nagte take over. So ngayon, wala siyang work, siya ‘yung kay Felize. And then vice-versa. Pag siya naman ‘yung may work, ako naman ‘yung kasama ni Felize.”
As for their at-home bonding, Joson and De Leon often watch each other’s shows and projects.
Joson revealed, “When we get home at the end of the day, we talk about our performances, so parang ‘yun ‘yung nagiging kind of bonding moments, ‘yung we watch each other’s shows or movies, and then we critique each other. Nag-ask kami ng help from each other.”
The actress shared that having a partner coming from the same industry is a positive thing; they get to support each other; there are no restrictions so long as they know their boundaries; and more importantly, there’s respect for each other.
In 2021, Joson and De Leon publicly announced their first-born daughter Felize.
As for her recent project, Joson recently joined the hit Kapamilya Primetime drama series ‘Dirty Linen’. In this series, she portrays Sophie Madrigales, the out-for-revenge ex-girlfriend of Aidan (Zanjoe Marudo).
