Likened to Western series with ultra-liberated themes, the upcoming Dreamscape drama has been a viral subject on social media since May 19.
The upcoming series, Senior High, drew massive attention among netizens during the release of its first teaser on Friday.
The series is [seemingly] intended to shed light upon modern-day Filipino teenagers, raised brows, especially from those who do not see the truthful depiction of the themes the series seems poised to tackle.
When the parents are AWAY, the kids will definitely PLAY!

“We literally have a reservoir of tiktoks showing us genuine high school life in the Ph
“Hindi naman purong anghel ang hayskul life sa Pinas.Pero maaliwalas, kakatawa, grounded, clashing– even Kalel,15 is a noir that represents hs life here
Hindi po Euphoria hs natin,” lamented Tristan who cited the work of Tiktokers Esnyr Ranollo and Sassa Gurl as a more genuine representation of contemporary high school life.
Some netizens, however, disagreed with Tristan’s argument.

Je also begged to disagree, noting that the life depicted in the teaser may be true to some people.
“Most of us experienced the typical high school life na pang-public school but that doesn’t really mean na the high school life as featured sa teaser doesn’t exist. Baka di lang natin alam kasi pang mayaman lang yung ganon,” his tweet reads.

CV Malaya, a teacher, finds truths in how both Tiktokers and the upcoming series depict the modern high school life. “Ung contents ni Sassa and Esnyr ay deeply rooted sa eksena ng 1-4th yearHS. Ung sa trailer, I believe theres really a representation ng ibang SHS prolly gen z and alpha gen HS. And its a teaser.
“Anyway, my students have a fair share of kwentos sa mga nightouts nila.”

Gigi has this to say to those who find the lines mentioned in the series, “corny” and exagerrated.“
Stop hating on the quotes, those quotes are literally what my gay HS self would put in my high school yearbook,” she said.

“Ang dami ng bandwagoners na nagcocomment na hindi naman ito ang high school sa PH. Like pwede ba yung fictional? Tingin nyo ung ELITE sa Netflix realistic din sa high school ng Europe? Like every season may natetegi na classmate? Eh di pinasara na yong school na yon. Kaloka,” Shinichi tweeted, taking the Mexican series, Elite, to prove his point about the Dreamscape series being a work of fiction.

Roselia believes that there are some genuine representations in the series, despite having more overdramatic parts.“my thoughts on #SeniorHigh ng abs-cbn
“hindi naman kami ganyan nung shs eh”
their portrayal of shs students is NOT a universal experience. just because you didn’t experience it doesn’t mean same rin experience ng iba. + it’s a teleserye! of course there’s some exaggeration,” her tweet reads.

Alexa, like some netizens, does not find an irregularity in how the teaser depicted highschoolers in the series, noting that it happens nonetheless to some people,
“i find it funny when people here compare their shs lives to this film. this type of lifestyle does exist in a minority, friends. sorry to break it to you, but there are students who have this lifestyle, and you simply don’t,” she argued.
