On April 17, director Frank Lloyd Mamaril and actress-TV host Karla Estrada reacted to rumors claiming ‘Face2Face’ was a scripted TV show.
At the media conference for the upcoming ‘Face2Face’, which LionhearTV covered, Mamaril admitted that he used to believe the series was a scripted TV show. The director revealed, “Honest to goodness, akala ko talaga scripted.” Minsan parang sinasabi ko, ‘yung mga researchers dito, secretly– ‘Ano scripted ba ‘to? Sabihin ninyo na sa akin. Kasi, para kung huhugutin ko agad doon.’ ‘Hindi po direk, ganyan-ganyan.'”
He then shared his first-hand experience on the TV program set, confirming that ‘Face2Face’ wasn’t a scripted show.
On the other hand, Estrada believed ‘Face2Face’ was authentic from the start. So wala eh.
‘Face2Face’ aired in 2010, trending due to in-person confrontations. TV5 was hosted by Amy Perez from 2010 to 2013 and Gelli de Belen from 2012 to 2013.
Face2Face’s reboot returns on TV5 with new hosts Karla Estrada and Alex Calleja.
Joining them are the newly formed Trio Tagapayo Atty. Lorna Capunan, Dr. Love Jun Banaag, with returning adviser Dr. Camille Garcia.
Frank Lloyd Mamaril directs Face2Face, which airs May 1 at 11 am via TV5 and Cignal TV.
