On May 24, Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose responded to the possibility of having a showdown performance with the Kapamilya Pop Royalty Sarah Geronimo.
During her interview in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the host read a question from a Facebook user asking, “Lalaban kaya siya sa isang back-to-back concert with Sarah G?”
San Jose answered, “Oh my God, na-pressure ako.”
She then explained that she would not dream of having a showdown with the Pop Royalty.
“Unang-una, Tito Boy, hindi po ako lalaban because there is only one Sarah Geronimo, there can only be one Sarah Geronimo.”
However, she clarified that she would feel honored to have a duet with one of her musical influences.
“It would be an honor na maka-duet po si Miss Sarah because I really look up to her.
“More on like maghahanda, yes po, definitely. Isa siya sa naging influences ko rin sa music.”
For San Jose, she began joining kiddie pageants in 1998 under Eat Bulaga’s Little Princess and Magandang Tanghali Bayan’s Little Miss U.
After that, she joined the Kapuso reality singing competition Pop Star Kids in 2002.
She then became a mainstay performer of Party Pilipinas during her early years on GMA Network.
Her cover of Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass launched her into Internet fame making her one of the most viral singers of her time.
She then became Asia Limitless Star following her three-part digital concert, Limitless.
Also, she showed off her acting prowess in the hit Kapuso TV show Maria Clara at Ibarra.
As for Geronimo, she has been appearing in various TV and movie projects since she was young. However, her break in the music industry came after winning IBC 13’s Star for a Night.
She became known as the Pop Princess because of her powerful voice and hit songs such as Forever’s Not Enough, How Can You Say You Love Me, and To Love You More.
She also delved into acting with various Kapamilya TV shows. However, she gained popularity as an actress with her role as Laida Magtalas in A Very Special Love, You Changed My Life, and It Takes a Man and Woman with John Lloyd Cruz.
Aside from that, she also popularized the hit dance craze Tala, which had the same name as her digital concert, Tala: The Film Concert in 2020.
She also celebrated her 20th year in showbiz with her recent concert event this May 2023.
